This weekend we had friends visiting us. Their daughter-in-law has a baby girl and we were discussing about the sleep schedules. My twins are not 'easy sleepers'. They have to be rocked to sleep or patted to sleep, but they do nap and sleep at night. At night, they wake up for two feedings and they sleep from 8 p.m all the way to 7 a.m. They also nap in the morning and at noon. I must have broken the spell but the day we had visitors the twins were at their 'worst sleep' behavior. They refused to nap at noon and cried for a good one hour before they napped. And at night, they constantly woke up crying.
I was pretty embarrassed that they were crying so much to sleep. It must have been the excitement of having new people around. My friend's granddaughter slept through the night from 10 p.m to 6.30 a.m. and she does not wake up for feedings in between. And my twins, they brought he house down that day!
What can I say- babies are at their worse behavior when we expect them to be at their best. Today, my friends have left and my babies slept peacefully - they did the entire schedule of naps and bedtime. Babies will be babies and we love them all the same :-)
